October is National Cybersecurity Awareness Month
National Cybersecurity Awareness Month (NCSAM) raises awareness about the importance of cybersecurity and is a time for businesses to emphasize training that empowers employees to be the first line of defense against cyber attacks. NCSAM began in 2004 by the National Cyber Security Division with the the Department of Homeland Security in coordination with the nonprofit National Cyber Security Alliance. This year’s theme is
“Do Your Part. #BeCyberSmart.”
This theme encourages individuals and organizations to own their role in protecting their part of cyberspace, stressing personal accountability and the importance of taking proactive steps to enhance cybersecurity.
Each week over the course of this month we will publish an article that focuses on different aspects of cybersecurity including tips on how to stay safe both at home and at work.
